On the busy Euston Road with its bustling restaurants and noisy pubs, the Pullmans Hotel’s restaurant is a good place to have a quiet-ish dinner. I ve been for drinks and bar snacks but the dinner menu isn’t too bad either. Naomi met me there with her friend back for a flying visit from Japan.
I had a rather unusual combination of skate wing with beetroot the other night. It went very well together I thought and I even tried the wine suggestion – a rather sweet wine (fortified?) rather like a sherry. The waitress was attentive and the staff were all pleasant and friendly.
I must say I have a soft spot for the Pullmans since they were very kind to me one night when I found myself ‘homeless’ on the streets of London. I had booked a hotel room on the wrong date!
